Members who have added these classes to their workout regimen have been noticing an increase in lean muscle, performance, endurance and a decrease in body fat. But why are these members attaining the above mentioned results from our BURN classes? In a nutshell BURN is our unique blend of HIIT training with bodybuilding/resistance training. This workout can be completed in 25 -40 minutes which means you get to enjoy the rest of your day doing what you love instead of living in a gym. As a parent, I want to work on my dad bod with minimal time spent in the gym to have more time with my family :) . So what is HIIT training and resistance training? How have we combined them to bring you our BURN program? HIIT CARDIO(High-Intensity Interval Training)High-intensity interval training has been getting the spotlight lately in the fitness world. Believe it or not, it's not a new method of training. It's been used by many athletes around the world for years to help them prepare for important competitions. To execute a HIIT cardio workout properly you have to combine a high intensity movement with a low intensity movement. An example of this would be to sprint 100m and walk for 100m or perform :30 seconds of burpees and rest for :30 seconds. 30-minute HIIT workouts such as these will give you the best results in the least amount of time. In fact, clinical studies show that short HIIT workouts give greater results than the traditional moderate pace run/walk. HIIT workouts also produce what's called the after burn effect. What is that? After a workout your body has to:
RESISTANCE TRAININGResistance training has proven itself time after time. What is it? Resistance training is any exercise that causes a muscle to contract against external resistance. This can be done with our XBar, dumbbells, body weight, resistance bands, etc. As a result of the muscle having to work against an external force, the muscle cells tear down and are quickly repaired by the body to help them regenerate and grow stronger and bigger. Bigger muscles, require more energy. More energy needed means more calories burned in a 24 hour period. All of this will result in a well built, lean physique. This is why resistance training had to be included in our BURN program when developing it. CALORIES = ENERGY BIG MUSCLES = MORE NEEDED ENERGY THEREFORE , MORE ENERGY NEEDED = MORE CALORIES BURNED BURN HAS BROUGHT YOU THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS FOR YOUR WELLNESSSo HIIT training focuses on burning fat and resistance training focuses on building muscle. For overall wellness we've mixed both. Why? Simply put, we want you to build muscle and burn fat at the same time! That about wraps it up. I'm a trainer not a blogger... This post didn't come easy to me... Can I get a participation trophy? :)
